The Charles Kuralt Trail
Charles Kuralt, a North Carolina native had a special interest in National Wildlife Refuges, especially those in Northeastern North Carolina. The Chrales Kuralt Trail has been established to help people enjoy these areas and to recognize the journalist who shared them with the Nation. Visit the 11 National Wildlife Refuges that comprise the Charles Kuralt Trail.

The Tug Boat Tuscarora
Colorful tug boats are a common site to many people who live along the Chowan and Blackwater Rivers. Since the early 1920s, steam tugs or "tow boats" have negotiated the waters of Northeastern North Carolina.

Museum of the Albemarle
The story of the people who dwelled in the Albemarle region ... from the native Americans, to the first English-speaking colonists, to adventurers, farmers and fishermen. The Museum of the Albemarle is a division of the North Carolina Museum of History.

Wings Over Water
Birders, wildlifers and other lovers of the outdoors from across the Nation came to the Outer Banks to participate in this year's Wings Over Water Festival.

Established in 1984 and located on the mainland of eastern North Carolina, Alligator River contains over 152,000 acres and is home to more than 200 species of birds, deer, bear and wildlife of every imaginable type. Review the Red Wolf re-establishment program, wildlife management activities, hunting and fishing opportunities, and volunteer programs available throughout the year. A wide variety of publications are available from this information rich site.
